How does an AMD Phenom™ II Quad-Core Mobile Processor N930 compare in speed to an Intel i7?
The club store I belong to (Sam’s Club) for some reason does not yet carry laptops wiht the new i7 processor. I need to buy a laptop now and was wondering how an AMD Phenom™ II Quad-Core Mobile Processor N930 compare in speed to an Intel i7?
AMD is a very nice CPU. Ive been using AMD for teh past 5 years, it comes really close to teh i7. maybe teh i7 will be a bit faster. but for teh money AMD beats intel.

Intel Core i7 has only 1.6 GHz?!?!?
I have a serious question. New Intel Core i7 processors have ridiculously low clock speeds. I’m talking 1.6 GHz on a GAMING LAPTOP. That’s just not right! I’ve seen them on Alienware and ASUS laptops costing over $1500! Those should have AT LEAST 2.4 GHz. Is there an excuse for having such a slow CPU?

Ok I know that the M11X I showed you doesn’t have an i7. It has a Core 2 Duo or something. But can somebody explain the logic behind that as well?
Calm down, the mobile intel core i7s are at a lower clock speed because they will burn a hole in your crotch if they are clocked to your desire.
They have some kind of tubo-boost feature which gives you a speed of 2.8 GHz. So do your homework and figure out how to use this turboboost.
OR go to cyberpowerpc.com and configure yur laptop to have a 3.33GHz i7 for $3000.
